Equipment and systems business Ishida Europe has announced the promotion of longstanding employee Guy Dix to technical director for the region, as the business continues to devise ranges for confectionery and snacks markets, writes Neill Barston.
As the company noted, the newly promoted senior manager had joined Ishida in July 2005 as a design engineer, and seen his path develop over the course of nearly two decades with the business.
The firm, which has regional headquarters in Birmingham, UK, has continued to play its part in releasing a broad spectrum of machinery for the sector, including its flagship checkweighing and X-ray inspection lines.
Over the course of his career at Ishida, Guy has consistently expanded his expertise and leadership within the company. Since March 2022, Guy has held the role of Engineering General Manager, overseeing all Ishida Europe’s engineering activities.
In his new position as technical director, he will leverage his extensive experience to drive Ishida Europe’s technical strategy and ensure continuous innovations in the company’s solutions.
Dave Tiso, Managing Director of Ishida Europe, welcome him in the newly promoted role. He said: “I am delighted to welcome Guy to our board as Technical Director. Guy’s almost 20 years’ experience at Ishida in key engineering roles, his cross functional relationship within Ishida Europe and his drive and energy have placed him very well for this next step in his career.”
Guy added: “I am absolutely thrilled to take up this new position and I look forward to making a significant contribution to the success of Ishida as Technical Director.”
He succeeds the current Technical Director, Seisaku Iwasa, who is returning to Japan to take up the role of Production Executive Officer, with the intention to accelerate global manufacturing collaboration within the Ishida Group. As Technical Director, Seisaku joined Ishida Europe on assignment from Japan in September 2019 and has acted as a conduit between the EMEA region and Japan.
