The Tanis Confectionery equipment group is in celebratory mood after gaining the Automation Innovation of the Decade Award at this year’s Gulfood Manufacturing, writes Neill Barston.
Notably, the Netherlands-based company was recognised for its pursuit of efficiency, delivering what was considered by judges as being ground-breaking impact of its compact lines with gantry robots on gummy and jelly production.
The business was among exhibitors at this year’s Gulfood, which ran between 5-7 November at the Dubai World Trade Centre, in which a total of more than 2,500 companies participated in showcasing their latest sector innovations.
This past year has been especially momentous for the business, as Confectionery Production previously reported, as the company delivered the ‘World’s Largest Gummy’ which demonstrated its technical capabilities.
Speaking about the award on social media, the company said: “For over five years, our team has worked to refine and perfect gantry technology for our starch and non-starch Compact Moulding Lines. This dedication has allowed us to eliminate traditional chain transport systems in favor of reliable gantry robots that bring unmatched precision and performance. By replacing chains with gantry robots, our lines experience less wear and tear, avoid alignment issues, and offer greater uptime—a true game-changer for confectionery production.
“The Tanis Compact Lines with Gantry Robots are more than just an upgrade; they are a paradigm shift in how gummy and jelly products are manufactured. Our compact depositing solutions, designed for high reliability and a smaller footprint, are ideal for production environments where space, efficiency, and cost savings are paramount.”
