Gulfood continues to attract key confectionery businesses, as IPCO unveils latest sector lines

Global equipment group IPCO is among a host of businesses at this year’s Gulfood Manufacturing, with the company showcasing its latest cooling systems, conveyors and belts for the confectionery sector at the key international show, reports Neill Barston.

The event, which starts today, runs until 7 November, with more than 2,500 exhibitors across more than 70 nationalities participating, with the show being in its notable tenth edition.

With almost 100 years’ experience of working with the food industry, IPCO can supply everything from premium quality steel bake oven belts to the design and installation of high productivity cooling systems for confectionery products. The company also supports food processors through consultancy services aimed at bringing new levels of efficiency and reliability to the production process.

The business is now considered the world’s largest supplier of carbon and stainless steel belts to the bakery and confectionery industries, working OEMs and end users alike. The key qualities of a solid or perforated bake oven belt include outstanding thermal properties for efficient baking; the inherent ease of cleaning of a belt compared with mesh; a high degree of sustainability due to low heating costs; and an attractive return on investment.

High capacity cooling and forming systems
IPCO also is a major supplier of confectionery cooling equipment. Belt-based cooling lines benefit from the exceptional heat transfer properties of stainless steel, ensuring quick and controlled solidification. The inherent smoothness of the belt means clean and easy discharge of candies, chocolate and other products at the end of the cooler, leading to a better quality product and less waste. This ease of release means that sticky or delicate products can be processed successfully.

Furthermore, the business also has the capacity to  support customers and OEMs with a full range of conveyor equipment including active and passive belt alignment solutions such as belt edge detectors, guide rollers and compact/automatic tracking devices.

The most recent addition to its range is an innovative new Compact Belt Tracking system, CBT 2G. A contact-free optical sensor continuously monitors the position of the belt, so any belt deviation is immediately corrected, ensuring fast, precise tracking and an extended belt life.
