Ferrero unveils debut for Rocher and Raffaello ice cream ranges
The Ferrero confectionery group has unveiled its first-ever Ferrero Rocher, Ferrero Rocher Dark and Raffaello ice cream sticks, as it builds its presence in the segment, writes Neill Barston.
As the company explained to Confectionery Production, its latest series will be made available across Europe in five countries this Spring, before a broader roll-out is anticipated.
The business revealed that it has been developing ice cream recipes in its laboratories in Alba, Italy for a period of years, with the resulting ranges now being manufactured on the company’s advanced production line in Alzira, Spain, following Ferrero’s acquisition of the Ice Cream Factory Company in 2019.
Fans of Ferrero Rocher will recognise the taste and textural experience of the typical crunchy shell of delicious chocolate and masterfully roasted hazelnuts, which unfolds in a smooth hazelnut ice cream enriched with a hazelnut and cocoa swirl.
Inspired by Raffaello’s iconic taste and texture, Raffaello ice cream combines harmonious exotic flavour, a crunchy white shell sprinkled with coconut shavings and exquisite almond pieces with a delicate, smooth coconut flavoured ice cream.
This launch marks an important and proud moment for Ferrero, as we introduce the first-ever Ferrero ice creams for two of our most loved brands: Ferrero Rocher and Raffaello. Thanks for your contact Debbie, at present, I don’t think these series are available in the US, as it’s being initially released for Europe, though if it is successful, then they may well end up in America as well….
